The day begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel or residence in Nairobi between 5:00 and 5:30 am. You will depart the city and travel north through the scenic central highlands, passing tea and coffee plantations and enjoying clear views of Mount Kenya as you approach the Laikipia region. A brief stop may be made at the Equator crossing point for photos before continuing to Ol Pejeta Conservancy.

You will arrive at Ol Pejeta Conservancy at approximately 9:30 am and begin your first game drive immediately upon entry. The conservancy is renowned for its successful wildlife conservation programs and is home to the Big Five, including one of the largest populations of black and white rhinos in East Africa. During the morning game drive, you are likely to encounter elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and a variety of bird species, all set against the backdrop of Mount Kenya.

At around midday, you will break for lunch at a lodge or designated picnic area within the conservancy. After lunch, the excursion continues with a visit to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, the only place in Kenya where rescued and orphaned chimpanzees can be seen. Here, you will learn about their rehabilitation and the important conservation work being carried out to protect these endangered primates.

Following the sanctuary visit, you will enjoy a short afternoon game drive as you make your way toward the exit, offering final opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography. You will then depart Ol Pejeta in the mid-afternoon and begin the return journey to Nairobi, arriving back in the early evening. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or residence, marking the end of a rewarding and memorable one-day safari experience.
